About Emma VandenEinde:Emma VandenEinde is an award-winning, bilingual multimedia journalist. She received her Master's Degree at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2022. She's currently the Mountain West News Reporter for KUNC, reporting on regional stories that reach seven states.
In the past, Emma worked as an Audio Reporter for CN2Go, a daily news podcast for Arizona PBS that received an Edward R. Murrow Award. Before that, she worked as an Investigative Journalist for News21, a Carnegie-Knight funded national news project. She also has worked as a Borderlands Broadcast Reporter for Cronkite News, the news division of Arizona PBS; a Producer for Channel 8 Arizona Horizon, an PBS-affiliate television station; a Broadcast Reporter and Digital Producer for 91.5 FM KJZZ Phoenix, an NPR-affiliate radio station; and an Editorial Assistant for ASU Thrive Magazine, a publication for students at Arizona State University. Recently, Emma placed second in the radio division of the 2021 National Hearst Journalism Championship Competition. She placed fifth in the monthly competition a few months prior. She also placed second in the audio educational category of the 2022 National Broadcasters Education Association Festival of Media Arts. A year prior, she placed fourth. Additionally, in 2020, her ASU Blaze Radio show, All That Jazz, was ranked in the top five Best Specialty Music Shows in the nation by the IBS Media Awards.
